/Alright, I've taken about a month off from taking my classes and now it's time to get back to work. I can't start my next stretch of Android Development courses until I find a better job that's more stable or if I land a nice one-time gig with a big enough payday to cover my classes for at least six months.
Until that happens I've got several one-off courses that I've already paid for that I can take while I keep up the hunt. I figure that since I am learning to build apps it might be useful to get a better understanding of Graphic Design. I found a cool class that claims to be a bootcamp course that looks like it goes the concepts of Graphic Design rather than just teaching you how to use the software. Either way, it was a ten dollar special that I'm hoping will be an introduction.
I also just bought a new Wacom tablet and plan to take a digital drawing class as a refresher class on how to use it. I still own a real old one but it's been about 20 years since I've used it so I'm hoping this quick class will get me back on the ball, possibly to the point where I go mouseless as I did back when I used the old one when I was trying to teach myself Flash 4.
After I'm done with those two courses I've also signed up for a certification preparation course for Java to build up my resume since this is the main programming language of Android. Right now, I have my Android for Beginners Nanodegree that doesn't really scream expert but was a very important step in my learning process. I also figure I'll need a quick Java refresher before I move on to the more advanced certification.
I'm excited to start class again because it allows me to add more structure to my day with far less bouncing back and forth between all the unimportant nonsense to fill up my free time. No, I'm not talking my blog stuff. The fact that I'm ahead of my personal projects allows me to both procrastinate when I want while still feeling productive.
Now it's time to get all this start, I'll check in tomorrow with more updates.
Talk to you then,
The Wicker Breaker
