I don't know what happened to me about two weeks ago but my quality of sleep has been horrible lately and I'm really starting to feel it. It's not really that I'm struggling to go to sleep like I'm used to when dealing with insomnia. No, I still go to sleep around the same time and wake on my regular schedule as well, but I wake feeling like garbage and my Fitbit is now saying I'm restless throughout the night.

I've been so desperate to get back to a solid sleep that I thought I would try to rest my system with liquor. So, yesterday afternoon I bought some whiskey and wine and spent the whole day drinking. It turns out I started to sip way earlier than I was than I was originally thinking.

Not only did I want to work on sleep but I also wanted to get away from my computer, so I turned to Amazon Prime to watch a very weird movie called Small Apartments which was perfectly strange enough to match my frame of mind as I am still in mourning over an old friend from my early 20s when we used to watch the form of entertainment all of the time.

I don't know whether or not I made it to the closing credits as I woke up on the couch to silence. I checked my watch to see what time it was, and I could have sworn it was 10:30 in the AM. At first, I was too panicked over what I needed to get done because I wasn't expecting that much time to fly by. It wasn't until I noticed that I had 5,000 steps from earlier in the day that made me realize I woke in the PM.

It's been a long time since I've mistaken the time of day but I love when it genuinely happens because I instantly went from anxiety-ridden to being excited about having so much extra time.

My quality of sleep was still garbage but I'm hoping it was bad enough that I will slumber extra hard tonight.

Oh well, we'll see what happens and as always, I let you know when it does. Talk to you tomorrow with another update.

Sincerely,

The Wicker Breaker
