This I saw yet another article about the idea of a universal income and how Finland is experimenting with the idea and already seeing benefit that makes total sense to me, keeping in mind that I am anti-war and don't see the benefits of living life based on the concerns of the money hoarding elite over making the world livable for all.

I know, as a freeloading artistic type it's easy to dismiss my fantasies of living in a perfect world with a guaranteed standard of living that would ease a lot of the suffering all around the world. Where would the money come from you ask, again, my thinking is idealized because we live in a world where profits from war are far more important that human life as we approach spending 600 billion dollars a year on wars that only add instability and more suffering creating an endless loop that we can't get out of.

Anyways, a poorly planned rambling about my political views is not the point of this post. I know this will never happen in my lifetime but I do find the points made in the article to be very interesting and could see how it could actually lead to a more productive workforce.

For one, there are polls out there that show a little over fifty percent of people asked would continue to work in they won the lottery. We're talking lottery winners here. These are people weighing out their work option based on a winning that would come nowhere close to the tiny stipend being thrown around in these universal income dreams.

I've never seen any argument that every person on the planet deserves to be a million so there would still be plenty of opportunities for the money hungry types to strive to live the pampered life that they seem to envision underprivileged peasant would be able to pull off with this guaranteed livable wage. Hell, there would even be more money from the spending class for the hoarders to desperately snatch up to widen the gap of numbers in accounts even further while still meaning nothing in the end.

This livable wage as a backup would lead more people to obtain jobs that they actually want over jobs that they need and have to hang onto no matter how poorly they are being treated by the company. Even if it has nothing to do with the "evil corporations" there are many people that just aren't in the right job but don't rock the boat and only benefit by making a paycheck while contributing the bare minimum effort toward the company as they float by.

Having a built-in backup plan would allow people to hold out until they find their perfect fit. That and it would afford people the ability to live while they train or retrain to find this perfect fit. The study also showed that this income has led to more people venturing out to start their own source of extra income.

Again, I'm fully aware that this idealized view will never see the light of day in this greedy world of ours because it benefits the people over the powers that be and it so easy to prop up the fears that there will be people out there who will definitely take advantage of the system and these people will be the poor and not the people on top who benefit from huge handouts the way the system already runs.

Oh well, enough with my dreamer ramblings that don't really matter in a world that only seems to rush into changes that only make things worse, while dragging their feet when it comes to doing anything that actually benefits mankind.

We'll see what mood I wake up in tomorrow, despite mine mini-rant, today has started out pretty good.

Talk to you soon,
