/Yesterday ended up being a very fun day spent with my nephew, sister, and her fiance. While we do all live in the same place we each have our own space for sanctuary and being that we're all a weird bunch of introverts, at times I feel like I'm living with roommates and not family.
That's not to say that we don't get along but there is something about an all introverted group that can really leave you questioning. I come in often to play with the nephew because right now, this little three-year-old is pretty much my best friend and during the summer we swim for at least an hour a day.
His parents aren't really big pool people so swim time gives them a chance to do their own thing where they often just sit on the sideline and look at their phones while I have to figure out whether I've been assigned to be a shark or possibly Iron Man.
Again, I see nothing wrong with this phone time break because unlike my hour that 100% play they have to deal with parenting the rest of the day and can't just pass him off when he gets grumpy. That said, this sideline watching while not getting involved adds to the introverted feelings.
That's why it was great yesterday when everyone got in the pool and we all had an adult conversation about video games... alright, maybe that's not the best example of an adult conversation but still, it reminded me of my days as a shy child where I wouldn't talk to anyone at all but when someone took interest in a subject that I liked you couldn't get me to shut up, which was kind of the vibe that I got from my soon to be brother-in-law who I normally find very difficult to read.
Hopefully, this will lead to more days like this because it was much more fun than wondering if I'm dealing with introverts or if they actually hate me, which I can see my shut-in ways potentially being read the same way but since the beginning of this year, I've been feeling more and more the new self that I'm trying to be.
Alright, that's what I've got for now. Talk to you tomorrow with another update.
Sincerely,
The Wicker Breaker
