It was probably about six years ago that I started to grow tired of satire when it comes to politics. I know, I know, satire played a big part in the past in helping get information out to non-political types through comedy, but it seems that the glory days of people rising to action over this potentially positive propaganda is long gone to where it now seems like a Facebook share is the biggest step that anyone makes on these topics that should insight outrage.

My growing hatred of satire might sound strange considering my latest challenge to watch every single Saturday Night Live as it is one of the key elements of the show's success but it's not actually the jokes being made that I take issue with, my issue is more what we do with the information which is actually highlighted by what I'm seeing in this challenge as the show has been satirically slamming many of the same exact issues for the entire 42 years that it's been on and yet we continue to laugh.

Yes we laugh because that's point, to draw people in through dumbed down entertainment which isn't meant to be a negative slam because if it wasn't for comedy, I probably wouldn't be political at all being that the main reason I started to actually follow the news in high school was in order to get all of the late night jokes so maybe this isn't even the satire that bothers me except for the fact that it leads to a slower burn than I'd like to see to really get to the changes we actually need.

Meanwhile, I do nothing at all and even hesitate to complain because I've given up on the world and am just riding this existence out hoping the world doesn't follow suit like it seems hell bent to do. Either way, it doesn't really matter because this letter to no one will definitely not change a thing.

I don't really know how I got to this nihilistic end to the note when I was trying to work my way around to complaining about the Trump dancer on AGT and how that brand of satire is the worst because for one, it's just not funny but it also helps neither side to make this man out to be a clown because it devalues the genuine threat of this maniac at the wheel when you make him out to be a buffoon, just look what George Jr. was able to pull off with this type of reputation.

Oh well, there's my political thought for the day, I'll try to go back to avoiding the topic for a why and come up with something more fun for when I check in tomorrow.

Talk to you then,
