/I can't believe it's already Friday again. This week really has blown by just like the last three years. Now that I have no social life, the blending of days has seemed to quicken to where I can no longer tell what happened yesterday from what happened three months ago.
It doesn't help that I am now living in the late '80s visually thanks to the SNL challenge that is currently consuming my time but to add to the time bending, I am also about three years in the past as I am also listening to the back catalog of one of my favorite podcast that I decided to revisit after being so disappointed by the present following last year's shit show of a presidential election.
It seems like I am not the only one who has decided to travel back in time as every instance where I do revisit the present it seems that society is not only seeing my attempt to travel back but are doubling down by going back even further. I mean first I checked in and out of the blue, we were back in the middle of the cold war, this got me to tune out even harder only to tune back in to see fears of a Nazi take over and if this wasn't bad enough, now I'm seeing more end of the world fears because we've gone back to a day where man feared the eclipse of the sun.
I can't wait for the day where we ditch technology altogether and get back to the days where we are printing on giant stones after realizing that as amazing as technology has grown to be, digital storage is still undependable and we're eventually going to have to warn the future about how to avoid dropping the ball as hard as this advanced collection of planetary citizens has.
I wish that I had faith in my fellow man to figure it out but I feel deep down we are still too primitive to fully take advantage of our technological advances that are supposed to make life easier which goes against the backbreaking efforts that got us to where we are. It's not that I'm saying that the world deserves to go on a permanent casual vacation but with automation taking care of the heavy lifting we should be working on expanding our minds to continue to advance as a society.
Again, I know, this is coming from a fantastical place in a daydreamer's brain and our reality would never let this happen but it's a thought that I'm hung up on at the moment so I figured I'd try to spit it out.
Now, it's time to get back to work so I can get caught up on my SNL prep-work in order to free up my time for another weekly project and to open my schedule for my paid work. As always, I will check in tomorrow with another update on my progress.
Talk to you then.
Sincerely,
The Wicker Breaker
