Last night marked day three of my attempt to rewrite my first novel. It also marked my first weekday effort to fit in all of my writing while also spending the prime time hours with my family. Though I failed to fit in as much work as I was hoping for, I still managed to rework five pages, two of which came from brand new content adding to my final page count which I will take as a win.

I'm not that worried about the drop in productivity because I did have four hours less to work with and my enthusiasm is still fully intact. I also feel that I will eventually figure out an efficient weekday schedule but it will take at least a week or two to settle into the groove if it actually takes that long to get through this round of writing.

As I said yesterday, I'm very pleased with my progress and actually see this as a legitimate rewrite and not just a proofread to catch typos and make little tweaks. As soon as I complete this draft, I plan to take at least a week off to get some distance from the story before I go through it one more time for a polishing draft.

After that, I plan to share what I've got on this site and ask for help treating it sort of like a Kickstarter campaign only I won't be asking for money because I'd prefer to have people donate their talents and skills with the early draft available to the world instead of held hostage until I meet my goal.

Though I would provide an option for people to pay what they want to potentially support my lifestyle while I work on part two of this epic tale, it would be more important if fans of the piece who have the know-how and belief in the final product would help me with editing, illustrating, layout or various other needs.

The idea of the end game would be to wait until the team of volunteers and I agree that the story is ready to be published in physical formats and available on Amazon for pay, keeping in mind that I would always keep a pay what you want version available on this site.

At least that's how the dream plays out and in order to get there, I must get to work making it time to say that I'll talk to you tomorrow when I check in with another update.

 Talk to you then,

The Wicker Breaker
