/Last night I was unable to get to my rewriting for the day due to technical difficulties. The thing that sucked was that these technical difficulties didn't even involve the computer that I use to write so it would have been possible to power through only this problem required enough of my attention that it was impossible to multitask.
It also sucked that the issue wasn't even that big of a deal. The software that I use to stream the media that keeps me entertained while I work from my computer to my Fire TV needed to be updated and being that it's not an Amazon authorized App the steps involved are more convoluted and time-consuming than simply clicking update like one would expect.
Not only was the update process more involved than I was hoping, the fact that this is maybe the third time I've had to do something like this in the five years that I've owned the device, made it hard for me to remember the steps I used in the past being that there were at least a half-dozen ways to accomplish my goal and of course it wasn't until I got to the last one until I found the solution that worked with the way my system is set up.
Meanwhile, every one of the previous solutions actually worked all that way up to when the progress bar read 100% only to trigger a pop-up alert that the upgrade was a failure. This is actually what took the most amount of time while keeping to frustrated to the point where I couldn't focus on anything else but I also couldn't just put it off or the lack of access to my entertainment the way that I want, would have driven me mental.
Luckily, I figured it out in time for my primetime break for the evening, but by the time I got back to my room I was too burnt out from my earlier aggravations that I didn't have the energy to do anything else so I gave up and went to sleep.
This may turn out to be a blessing in disguise because I ended up getting a good night's sleep and am now up nice and early and ready to go being that last night was so filled with delays. Now, I'm hoping to be done with my SNL review by or before noon, leaving me plenty of time for a quick break to shift gears before I jump back into the rewrite.
I can't wait to get going so it's now time to end this letter to no one in the usual way with a promise to check in with a new update tomorrow.
Talk to you then,
The Wicker Breaker
