Good Evening Crickets…

Well… I started the day in a pretty good mood… excited to try another potential solution to my sites technical problems on my own… now that the customer support for all three of the services that aren’t communicating properly seem to be ignoring me after over a month and a half of dealing with the same issue… that seems like it should be simple to fix if these god-damned companies would only work together instead of constantly blaming the customer or one another…

But… like with everything in my life… I guess I’ll have to figure it out on my own… this morning I thought that I at least had a potential fix… because… all signs looked good… I got it to where the DNS records showed no problems… and when you clicked on a link it sent visitors to the properly secured version of the site… that is until this evening… when I went to share my 365 Days Of Marketing And Me post… only to find that my domain was no longer linked at all…

Keeping in mind that I didn’t touch a single setting after getting the page to correctly display the secured version of this site… I spent the last hour yelling and cursing at my computer trying to figure out why the DNS file reset… and how I avoid the issue in the future… especially since it takes 72-hours for the DNS to reset… leaving me in a constant limbo each time I have to start again… which I shouldn’t have to if only these companies knew how to configure their products to play well with others… it’s not like these are obscure services…

Again… I am… or at least was… a fan of all of these products until these problems started over a month and a half ago… you would think that at least one of them would escalate the issue… especially the service that I’m paying the most for… and have been using the longest… they have been the worst at providing help… which bums me out… because their support was what I fell in love with when they were I tiny start-up… I guess now that they can afford Super Bowl ads… they can also afford to lose a loyal user… which they will… as soon as I have the extra time needed to rebuild the site on my own…

That’s the biggest problem… I started this site before I knew how to make pages from code… and now have too much content to simply switch to another platform… especially since the WYSIWYG web builder understandably makes it hard to get to all of the codes needed to make any sort of transfer all that simple…

I just got the page working well enough to finish my day… hopefully… the propagation process will get things working better in the morning… because… if my DNS records disappear again… I feel like I might explode… fingers crossed… I’ll be sure to let you know how things go when I check in tomorrow… I look forward to getting past the problems and start sharing more stoner fun again…
