/It turns out that when you work from home it is very easy to forget when it is a national holiday, or what I now call, "a surprise day off!!!" Well, to be honest, I did find out that this was a three day weekend on Friday when I was informed that my oldest sister was coming down to celebrate my oldest nephew heading out of state to go to college. They said they chose this Monday because everyone would be off.
That's where the surprise day off still comes into play. Since I work online there's no real need for the company to ever shut down so holidays are optional work days and I was originally going to opt to work to earn a couple extra bucks.
That was until this morning when I woke up feeling a little down for no apparent reason. Everyone in a while I just get stuck in sad thoughts as I reflect on how I ended up in this life of limbo desperately trying to rekindle the hope I once had while chasing a dream while regretting the way things went down when I was forced to wake up.
Sure I now have a new dream and I'm enjoying the learning process but I'm still only several months into a transition out of over two decades of close call efforts that left me chasing my tail to the point where I truly believe I was having fun with the pursuit. I still believe I had a blast but getting older has a funny way of changing ambitions.
Anyways, these thoughts of the past leave me feeling far from ambitious so I am going to opt for the day off and rest up for this evening's family event. It's been a while since I've interacted with more than the family members I live with, so this should recharge my energy for the rest of the week.
At least that's how I hope it happens.
Oh well, I guess we'll have to wait to see how things turn out.
Talk to you tomorrow,
