Operation Achieve Anything: Day Three-Hundred-Thirty-Nine, Dateline 12-5-2018

Good morning crickets. Welcome to day number three-hundred-thirty-nine of Operation Achieve Anything. Yesterday was another great day of me settling into the idea that I’m actually already in the twilight portion of living out my dreams. Granted, this twilight phase can get a little confusing since I only see quick glimpses of success out of the corner of my eye that disappear as soon as I turn my head. Where in the past, I would get discouraged by these disappearances which would lead me to wake up and find myself as some loser in a room, and not the professional yet quirky writer, plugging away with fingers constantly dancing and words magically appearing on the scene.

Good morning crickets. Welcome to day number three-hundred-thirty-eight of Operation Achieve Anything. I don’t know what the hell ending up happening to yesterday. Yes, I did get a late start. Yes, I did end up rambling a little more than usual in both The Daily Breaker post and the intro to my review of Ed Helms’ first visit as host on SNL. Yes, there were even technical difficulties that delayed any progress for about one hour, but none of that explains how it ended up being a ten hour day just to get through the bare minimum to meet all of my daily deadlines.

Good morning crickets. Welcome to day number three-hundred-thirty-seven of Operation Achieve Anything. I’m not entirely sure if I’m just going through another optimistic fling with my outlook on life or what, but I’m really starting to feel like all of my efforts to figure out a way to be my own boss, on my own terms may be within my grasps. Keeping in mind that my first benchmark is to replace my part-time job and nothing delusion like landing a six-figure income within months of monetizing my efforts.

Good morning crickets. Welcome to day number three-hundred-thirty-six of Operation Achieve Anything. I swear, it cracks me up how every single time I put any more effort into promoting my work, beyond casually sharing each new link through social media, the site traffic always seems to go down, only to jump back up to normal when I go back to my effortless ways. Yesterday, I figured I’d try to throw a couple of bucks at Twitter and Facebook to boost my post that celebrated my accomplishments from last month, thinking I’d see some sort of a bump only to end up seeing the curve turn in the wrong direction.

Good morning crickets. Welcome to day number three-hundred-thirty-five of Operation Achieve Anything. Today is turning out to be a pretty exciting day as I’ve hit several benchmarks all at once, creating a synchronistic sign that I’m on the right track. At least that’s how I’m going to choose to take it. First off, this is the final month of this Operation Achieve Anything challenge, as well as my 700th SNL review as part of my My Saturday Night Life challenge. I’ve successfully met each deadline for both projects going on one full year for this task, and two years when it comes to my SNL reviews.

Good morning crickets. Welcome to day number three-hundred-thirty-four of Operation Achieve Anything. Yesterday ended up being just the day that I needed at just the right time. Over the past week, I’ve been working through issues with my productivity levels following my mini-Thanksgiving break. Even though I took enough time off to feel a little refreshed, I still felt a bit burnt out because that time off was devoted to a seventeen year ongoing Thanksgiving tradition that came with a checklist of things to do. The other day off went to recovery from all of the booze and legal marijuana that was involved.

Good morning crickets. Welcome to day number three-hundred-thirty-three of Operation Achieve Anything. This is turning into an interesting week as my goal to hit the ground running on Monday, following a mini-Thanksgiving break has evolved into a week of rest and planning. I want to give myself grief for going easy, but I ended up working both Saturday and Sunday when I was supposed to be taking time off to reset. I need to remember that these changes in plans can go both ways.

Good morning crickets. Welcome to day number three-hundred-thirty-two of Operation Achieve Anything. Yesterday turned out to be an interesting one, where I woke up in the morning, amped, and ready to get a lot done, some time around noon, just after finishing my Daily Breakdown, I decided to go easy for the rest of the day. Though I do feel a bit rested from my Thanksgiving break, the fact that my mini-vacation was more of a ploy to drum up content, means that it wasn’t really a break at all.

Good afternoon crickets. Welcome to day number three-hundred-thirty-one of Operation Achieve Anything. In yesterday’s post, I shared how I felt I was one day away from feeling fully recovered from my vice fueled Thanksgiving tradition. Physically, I was doing just fine, but my head still felt a little cloudy, which wasn’t a surprise because I did kill a lot of brain cells during my thirty plus hours holiday cannabutter eating/drink-a-thon of a day. I then killed a couple more brain cells while polishing off the leftovers throughout the last couple of days. Now I feel fine, but I’m still a tad bit confused as to what I want to do for my next move.

Operation Achieve Anything: Day Three-Hundred-Thirty, Dateline 11-26-2018

Good afternoon crickets. Welcome to day number three-hundred-thirty of Operation Achieve Anything. I think I might have one more day of Thanksgiving haze left in me before I’ll be fully back on the ball. Though my head isn’t quite as cloudy as it’s been ever since my thirty-hour holiday themed vice bender, my thoughts seem to be coming a lot slower and while at the same time I’m also finding it hard to maintain my focus. Then again, I did just wake up, so some of this slowness may just be stemming from that, considering how I no longer feel notorious from my spinning head and the gut rot from all the booze and cannabutter is gone as well. This is why I think that it will take just one more day to get all of the ickiness out of my system to be able to get back to work.

Good afternoon crickets. Welcome to day number three-hundred-twenty-nine of Operation Achieve Anything. I think that I ended up sleeping too much over the past couple of days that all I want to do is sleep even more. Thankfully, it’s Sunday meaning that I can work at my weekend pace without beating myself up for being unproductive. It’s also the day that we’re celebrating my little nephews birthday so I’m going to rush to get everything done so I can head inside to hang out.

Good afternoon crickets. Welcome to day number three-hundred-twenty-eight of Operation Achieve Anything. Though I’m not all that proud of the paragraph I managed to come up with, I’m super proud of the fact that I managed to fit in my Daily Breaker post at around five-thirty in the AM yesterday morning, while I was still up celebrating Thanksgiving from the night before. I somehow managed to pace my drinking and partaking of medical butter and smoke to where I was consistently comfortable without ever getting cranky of catatonic leading me to want to ride it out until I just couldn’t keep my eyes open anymore. I ended up staying awake until noon and woke seventeen and a half hours later feeling nice and refreshed.

Good morning crickets. Welcome to day number three-hundred-twenty-seven of Operation Achieve Anything. I’m still up from last night, so I’m going to make this quick just in case I end up sleeping through my deadline. Yesterday’s assignment was to not watch TV or do anything having to do with technology. The synchronicity was amazing because I’ve been actively putting in an effort to free my time to do nothing but watch TV. I proudly failed that assignment which I’ll get into tomorrow when I delve into the amazingly timed quote of the day. I look forward to sharing my next update. Until then, it’s that time for me to sign off by saying, good day and good luck to you and all of your projects.

Good morning crickets. Welcome to day number three-hundred-twenty-six of Operation Achieve Anything. I hope everyone is having a happy Thanksgiving. I’m going to try to make this one quick so that I can move over to the couch and celebrate the holiday in my own special way. I know it should be a day for family, but when I moved to Seattle twenty years ago and could only afford to travel home once a year for Christmas, it became a day where I celebrate solitude, which plays into the current theme of the Achieve Anything… book.

Good morning crickets. Welcome to day number three-hundred-twenty-five of Operation Achieve Anything. I am so excited about the next couple of days because I’m going to be taking a few preplanned days off from my SNL review challenge while using a couple of banked reviews to keep up my one-review-a-day average. Though I often build and use back up reviews, I usually use my safety net content when I’m too hung over to focus which happens once or twice a month. Typically, these weekend benders are unplanned, so any time off is more guilt-ridden and not the refreshing break that I actually need.

Good afternoon crickets. Welcome to day number three-hundred-twenty-four of Operation Achieve Anything. Today is the day that I implement my plan to watch and review as many episodes as I can over the next two days to be able to afford somewhat of a vacation. With Thanksgiving coming up, I don’t want to have to worry about any deadlines on the day because I plan to be wasted. I also a few extra days off to recover and recharge my energy toward the challenge because I’ve been feeling a bit burnt out on the challenge over the past week, so a little downtime might be just what I need.

Good morning crickets. Welcome to day number three-hundred-twenty-three of Operation Achieve Anything. Yesterday I shared how I’m growing to accept the fact that I am entering a much calmer phase of my life now that I’ve given up wearing my extrovert mask to settle into accepting the introverted existence filled with solitude that I once desperately tried to avoid. Though I adore the people I met and the places I’ve been back when I was rudderless in my efforts to find my place in the world, unfortunately, the direction I landed on is this path that I must travel on, my own, at least until I get to the next fork in the road.

Here we go with another Sunday where I’ll be heading up to my older sister’s house once again, this time to welcome my younger sister back to town for her quick two-month stay as part of some work training. Thankfully, she and my mom are road tripping it right now so my sister can have access to her car, meaning that I won’t have to leave until later in the evening, leaving me plenty of time to get everything done before I head out.

Good morning crickets. Welcome to day number three-hundred-twenty-one of Operation Achieve Anything. I can’t believe that it’s another Saturday already. It seems like it was just yesterday that I was surprised by the fact that it was last Saturday. This week has been an interesting one because I spent way too much time focusing on my efforts to regulate my sleep that it threw off my entire schedule. I think I was just trying to recapture the success of the week before where I managed to hit my daily target of seven hours of slumber without any effort at all.

Good afternoon crickets. Welcome to day number three-hundred-twenty of Operation Achieve Anything. I’ve really been struggling with my schedule over the past couple of days and am just now realizing that I think daylight savings is to blame. I know most people are already aware of the difficulties that come with this shifting of time, but this is the first time in my life as a morning person. I used to love this time of year because I preferred to work after dark. Now, night time has become a sign for me to start to wind down, leading me to start to get into my end of the day mode around four thirty in the PM instead of steadily working all the way up until prime time TV watching PM.
