Welcome to day number thirty of 365 Days Of Marketing And Me… as I said yesterday… I’m done complaining about my technical issues with my site… but I’m not done talking about the behind-the-scenes market efforts… in fact… I plan to share what I get into even more… since this is a marketing challenge after all…
My original plan was to purely focus on marketing throughout the entire challenge… only the 365 Days Of Marketing book that I’m using for this challenge’s framework… only suggests themes for each day… week… and month… of the year… and has very little to do with actual marketing techniques…
For example… yesterday was Corn Chip Day… and the book made gift bag suggestion… and themed ideas for team building activities … since I’m a one-man-show with no team to build and no customers to give gift bags to… this isn’t what I expected but… it’s also my fault… being that I’ve owned the book for years but never opened it until the day that I started this challenge…
I don’t mind surprises though… that’s why I decided to play along with the daily theme and share what I come up with… moving forward… I think I’m going to break each post into three different sections… this top section will be where I share my latest marketing effort all the way down to the Ezoic ad below…
The next section will start below the ad and will focus on the results of the steps that I ended up taking to fulfill the prior day’s assignment… which I’m about to start right here by delving into how I ended up spending Corn Chip Day… which ended up being pretty pathetic since payday still a week away… but I did buy a bag of Chili Fritos and a small variety of cream cheese to use as dip…
I bought the Chili Fritos to switch things up… since I just used regular Fritos for the Frito Pie that I made for Chili Day… I got the cream cheese with chives to play it safe… then I got the blueberry and the strawberry cream cheese with the hopes of finding a “you got your chocolate in my peanut butter” type of mistake… but I was way off…
The Chili Cheese Fritos with chive and onion spread was as good as I expected… but when it came to the fruit-flavored spreads… each element tasted great on its own… but the chili cheese flavoring was too strong mix… I’m sure I could convince myself that I liked all three combos… but I decided instead to save the fruity flavors for breakfast… and made the chives and onion spread my dip for the rest of the night…
And with that… it’s time to move on to section three by sharing what the book has in store for today…
This third section will be the same as usual… and will be where I share my assignment for the current day… which… according to the 365 Days Of Marketing book is Inane Answering Machine Message Day… which is another one that might be a bit tough… considering the fact that I haven’t had a message connected to my voicemail in years… and never leave messages if I’m the caller… because I hate the sound of my own voice… We’ll see what I figure out… when I check in tomorrow with my results… I look forward to seeing what I figure out myself!!!
