365 Days Of Marketing And Me: Day Forty-Seven - 2/16/2021

One Creative Introverts Effort To Take On The Extroverted Marketing World…

Welcome to day number forty-seven of 365 Days Of Marketing And Me… where I just finished my free seven-day trial of SEMrush… which I found to be a useful tool… but between them and Moz… Moz takes the win… because it feels like Moz feels more like a team effort that encourages you to get involved… they even have an onboarding process to make sure that everything is set up alright… as opposed to SEMrush where it just felt like a tool to use… and not an actual service…

Keep in mind… I still don’t really know what I’m doing as far as marketing goes… and at this point… I’m only using these programs for their website audits… to then research how to fix any problems that show up in the crawl reports… and am not actively doing research on things like keywords and what the competition is up to… if I did already know what I was doing… I might like the tool only feel… because I don’t know if I’d like all of the pressure to interact if I wasn’t a beginner who felt lost…

Today I’m going to sign up for a free month-long trial of SEObilitity… I’m intrigued by this service because it seems to focus more on the on-page issues over the technical stuff that can’t be seen… I did see links on the other two services of on-page tools but they seemed to work one page at a time and don’t seem to be caught during each site-wide crawl… again… keeping in mind that I use trial and error to figure things out… so… take any of my reviews of marketing products with a grain of salt…

Alright… I’m going to consider this the marketing portion for today… now let’s see what I did with the assignment from yesterday…

According to the 365 Days Of Marketing book… yesterday was Organ Donor Day… well… Organ Donor Day was actually an alternative theme for those like me who thought it was a cheat that the book was using mainstream holidays for their featured daily theme… but… I didn’t notice this until I opened the book to work on this here post… according to the book… yesterday was Call In Single Day… which I would have done if only I had someone to call in anything to…

Unfortunately… I also don’t have all that much to say about Organ Donor Day… other than I am a donor… and often joke that my family will end up getting sued if I die and any of my corrupted organs ended up in anyone else… but I guess I can say that the fact that I rode my exercise bike again yesterday is an effort to improve my overall health… so that… if/when I do go and someone ends up with my spleen… they’ll be getting a healthy one…

I’m kind of excited that I’ve now ridden the bike two days in a row… because… as you can see by this website… once I get going… I’m really good at turning a habit into a routine… I recently heard from a couple of physical therapists on YouTube that all you have to do pedal casually for a minute and a half… then sprint for thirty-seconds… you do this four times in a row… so that in ten minutes… you get an equivalent cardio workout to a thirty-minute jog… and that’s what I plan to keep doing as my effort to get back to the point where my organs would be worth donating…

And there you have how I handled yesterday’s task… now it’s time to see what the book has for today’s theme…

The 365 Days Of Marketing book says that today is Do A Grouch A Favor Day… which would be easy if I just did a favor for myself… but it might be a little hard since I try to avoid the grouches in my life as much as possible… because I’m not naturally all that grumpy… at least I wasn’t until the trend in comedy was to be snarky while casually pointing out anything that could be seen as a flaw…

I used to be the type that would get overly enthusiastic about everything… especially those things that everyone else seemed to try to dread… like jury duty… and trips to DMV… since I was excited by the potential that I was going to see some fun nonsense… that now only makes me want to complain… oh well… we’ll see tomorrow which grouch I end up helping… when I check in with my next post!!!

Below are the statistics for today…
