Welcome to day number fifty of 365 Days Of Marketing And Me… and I’m still hunting down pages throughout this site that are throwing 404 errors… according to Google Analytics… there are over seven-thousand pages that make up this website… and only a little over three-thousand pages are actually content…
All the other stuff is duplicate pages caused by a combination of me shortening URLs… not realize this created a new page instead of just a new name… and a bunch of instances of SquareSpace’s old ways of turning blog categories and tags into pages that were index… these are tags and categories that I deleted a long time ago… to I have to hunt through every link to find all of the pages that were created that I wasn’t aware of to redirect… this is why this process is taking so long…
Hopefully… once I’m done… I’ll never have to deal with these issues again… since I now know a little more about how the marketing side of this site goes… so… I’ll be able to preemptively implement any fixes while I make any changes to my site… as I move forward and my overall web development experience continues to grow…
And with that… I’m done with the marketing reporting portion for today…… now let’s see what I did with the assignment from yesterday…
According to the 365 Days Of Marketing book… yesterday was Battery Day… and to celebrate… I’m going to share how I love these new USB rechargeable 9-volt batteries that I bought to power my Electric Muscle Stimulation device… that I connect into a pair of magical socks that I then use to shock my feet… which relieves the pain that I feel from plantar fasciitis… which provides the most relief of all of the healing techniques that I’ve tried so far…
Before I bought the rechargeable 9-volt batteries… in the above Amazon ad… I was burning through a battery a day… which was getting pretty expensive… even when I started to buy the batteries from The Dollar Tree… the better brands did last longer… but not long enough for the price difference… plus… I didn’t like feeling so wasteful… which is why I decided to go the rechargeable route…
First off… I like how these batteries charge via USB and not through a charging station… because I always have a USB cable nearby for my phone… so I never have to use up an outlet for a charging station that’s empty most of the time… I also like how these things put out their full power until they are dead… instead of the power fading away until the thing is dead… the way that the disposable do… and finally… I just don’t like being wasteful… so rechargeable is the only way to go…
Now I just need to save up to buy rechargeable batteries for every size that I need… it’s a good thing that all of my other batteries are for remote controls… or other small electronics that seem to only need to be replaced once a decade… speaking of buying… if you do opt to try Electronic Muscle Stimulation… I recommend the machine in the ad above… because of the machines that I tried… these are more powerful than the ones with preprogrammed massages…
I also recommend the conductive socks over the EMS foot mats or sandals… because they stimulate the entire foot and not just their bottoms… and with the mats… you have to sit with your feet so close together that it’s uncomfortable… and the socks give you the freedom to walk around… you can with the EMS sandals as well… but their contact points make it extremely uncomfortable… the only thing with the socks.. is that you have to keep them damp… which is why… I also recommend the garden water sprayer from the Amazon ad… I keep mine right by my desk to spray my shocking socks when they get too dry…
Alright… that’s all that I’ve got… but I think it meets the intentions of the task from yesterday…. now let’s see what the book has in store for me today…
The 365 Days Of Marketing book says that today is Chocolate Mint Day… which means that I have to take a trip to the store to buy a few treats!!! I’m not sure what sort of post will come from me eating a bunch of sweets… unless I can figure out an abstract way to technically fulfill the task of celebrating this special day…. as always… we’ll see what I end up committing to when I write out tomorrow’s post!!!
