365 Days Of Marketing And Me: Day Sixty - 3/1/2021

One Creative Introvert’s Effort To Take On The Extroverted Marketing World…

Welcome to day number sixty of 365 Days Of Marketing And Me… where yesterday I took a break from all of my marketing efforts in order to celebrate my birthday… or at least my birthday replacement since I don’t get on this year as a Leap Year Kid who’s now had 11.25 birthdays while on this planet… this might be why I’ve held on to being immature so late into life… now I’m getting old enough to age out of childish interest even when using my magical outlook on the Leap Year timeline…

I’m excited because my large item gift will really help out when I get don’t tweaking all of the unseen SEO optimizations that I’m currently focused on… and finally start readjusting my On-Page SEO… especially when it comes to resizing all of this site’s images… which I never used to do… and which is why many of my pages load so slow… this large item gift was an XP Pen: Artist 12 Drawing Tablet

I can’t wait to fire this thing up… but… I need to get an HDMI splitter to get it to work on my laptop computer while my desktop machine continues to wait to be fixed… the splitter should be here by the end of tomorrow… my desktop will get fixed as soon as I earn enough through ads… or the moment any form of stimulus money comes in… because the laptop that I’m using while my laptop is down is super old and super slow…

I think… legally… today is my actual birthday… because Leap Year is technically the day after the 28th… but as I said yesterday… I feel more of an attachment to February being that it’s a quirky month… so I celebrate on the 28th for myself… then taking easy on the 1rst… to celebrate for everyone else… with that said… I may end up not doing all that much as far as marketing goes today… unless you count working on whatever task I come up with to meet the marketing theme for today…

And now that the marketing stuff for today is done… it’s time for me to share how I handled yesterday’s task…

According to the 365 Days Of Marketing book… yesterday was National Tooth Fairy Day… and to celebrate… I forced my family to watch the Tooth Fairy movie that stars The Rock… because I figured that it would fulfill the theme’s needs and be a fun movie to watch on my quasi-birthday… and pun intended… it was like pulling teeth to get everyone on board…

Well not everyone… just my nephew.. but since it was just him and my mom who were available to celebrate with… thanks to quarantine… and the fact that I’m a shut-in… his disinterest accounted for 50% of the crowd… this really bummed me out because I saw it coming… since I had something that I wanted to watch… and this is the reaction that I get whenever I ask for control over the remote control… not just from him… but from everyone who thinks my tastes are either too strange… or convoluted for their mainstream tastes…

Since I knew this movie was just quirky… and that the viewing would be fun… I insisted that he hang out and watch… and we all ended up having a blast… because the Tooth Fairy starring The Rock is a hilarious movie… and it was the first time in a long while that I laughed so hard while watching something scripted… since we typically watch more competition-based reality shows… where most of the things that I laugh at are from unintentional moments that arise when filming unscripted shows…

By the time the credits began to roll… I was out of my non-birthday year funk… and actually had fun for the rest of the night… watching more television… while munching away on a giant spread of fried products that we got from Popeye’s chicken to cater the event… I wish I took a picture of the spread… but I was too hung up and fulfilling the needs of National Tooth Fairy Day to remember to document any other aspect of the event...

But… when all is said and done… I’m going to consider the task for yesterday to be met… now let see what theme the book has in store for today…

The 365 Days Of Marketing book says that today is National Beer Day… which means we’re back to me struggling to come up with a task to meet the theme off the top of my head… it might be a little easier if I didn’t give up drinking until this challenge is over… in order to meet the needs of an earlier theme… I guess I could celebrate with O’doul’s… we’ll see if I can find something fun up the street at the liquor store… and I look forward to sharing whatever zero-percent brew I end up drinking… when I check in with tomorrow’s post!!!

And now… to wrap it all up… below are my statistics for the last seven days…

Keep in mind… I’ve barely spent money on ads a few years ago… do not do much as far as social media goes anymore… and killed the eight years worth of authority points by changing my URLs without properly handling the 301 directs… but… this challenge is meant for creative types with content but no business or marketing skills… that there may just be a way to make a few bucks from their craft… so I’m fine with the low numbers at this point… since it feels like I will be able to show any progress from scratch…
