365 Days Of Marketing And Me: Day Sixty-Three - 3/4/2021

One Creative Introvert’s Effort To Take On The Extroverted Marketing World…

Welcome to day number sixty-three of 365 Days Of Marketing And Me… where… last night I completed another hour of the free Moz-produced SEO course that I’m taking over the past couple of days… it’s still my favorite of the four courses I’ve taken so far… the only problem is that it inspires me to want to implement what I learn as soon as a topic that’s new to me gets covered…

Once I begin to work on a problem… I then fall into the trap of wanting to get back to work on a bunch of the easy issue that I’ve been putting off… not because I’m procrastinating… but because I need to fix my desktop computer before I can do anything with the images… because my laptop is too old to run Photoshop without it constantly freezing up…

That said… I don’t need photoshop in order to fix about four thousand problems… so the only resource that I need is time… which I have… so I’m torn between taking more classes… and just giving in to fixing all of the titles and descriptions for my The Daily Breaker posts which are currently blank at this time… there are just close to two thousand posts to work through… which is why I want to wait to fix everything in one fell swoop…

What has me torn… it that I’m impatient… and don’t really mind tedious tasks… in fact… I find them to be kind of fun… as long as I have a more fulfilling project as the main focus of my day… using these tedious tasks as a break… so… the plan for today is to finish off the Moz course… while fixing more titles and page descriptions whenever I need little breaks… this should keep me busy until the money I need to fix my main computer comes in…

And that concludes the marketing portion for today… now it’s time to move on to see how I handled the assignment from yesterday…

According to the 365 Days Of Marketing book… yesterday was Read Across America Day… and just like yesterday… I’m going to resort to promoting some of my older work to both meet the marketing aspect of the overall project while also technically fulfilling yesterday’s celebratory theme… since having zero notice makes it hard to complete some of these tasks by the next day…

If I had more time… I might have tried to read at least some form of content from a writer from each state… or… back in the day… it may have been fun to book an Amtrak trip across the US only to read the entire time… with Read Across America Day being the date to either begin or end my reading travels… instead… while stuck at home during the Corona Virus… with the only reading I do being how-to posts or SEO tip found in forums…

Way back during 365 Days Of Resolution… I set a goal to read for at least half an hour a day and write a review for each book that I completed for an entire year… keeping in mind that I’m dyslexic… so my completed book count might seem a bit low to any of you out there who actually see the correct words… it was a fun challenge… and I enjoyed ever book… I just wish that I could read faster to make what’s supposed to be a leisurely activity feel more like a chore…

Below are the books that I managed to get through… in the order I read them…

  1. The Shroud Of The Thwackers by Chris Elliott

.2. Black Sun by Kyle Michael Porter

3. Meta by Tom Reynolds

4. A Guide To The Good Life: The Ancient Art Of Stoic Joy by William B. Irvine

5. Rat Race by Dick Francis

6. The Sirens Of Titan by Kurt Vonnegut Jr.

7. Wishful Drinking by Carrie Fisher

8. The Year Of Living Biblically by A.J. Jacobs

9. Catch 22 by Joseph Heller

Damn… I didn’t realize that I didn’t even read one book a month… but… keep in mind… I was also working a full-time job… while juggling 364 other resolutions… and going through the midlife crisis that ended with me moving back home to heal… click here to read the reviews

That should technically cover the theme from yesterday… and now it’s time to see what the book has for today’s celebratory theme…

The 365 Days Of Marketing book says that today is Unique Name Day… which is once again a theme that I have no idea how to celebrate… but… I’m starting to find that I do more actual marketing when I technically try to fulfill a theme’s needs… since I usually end up promoting an older project instead of coming up with some sort of stunt… I can’t wait to see what I end up promoting when I check in tomorrow…

And now… to wrap it all up… below are my statistics for the last seven days…
