365 Days Of Marketing And Me: Day Sixty-Four - 3/5/2021
/One Creative Introvert’s Effort To Take On The Extroverted Marketing World…
Welcome to day number sixty-four of 365 Days Of Marketing And Me… where I was going to rant about my issues with the trend in customer support to give you a different representative with each email that they send… so no one knows the history of the problem and no one can be held accountable if the last person’s solution doesn’t end up resolving the problem… but… I’m trying to avoid using this blog as an outlet to rant… this site’s supposed to be fun…
On top of a new battle with customer support… yesterday… I finally completed the free Moz-produced SEO course that I started earlier this week… though I did still like the second half of the course… I kind of zoned out after they covered On-Page SEO because it’s going to be a while before I start doing anything thing to do with Off-Page SEO… or at least that’s what I thought until some of the half-listened to content started to get through to me…
This is why… as soon as I finished the course… I reprioritized my class queue to get the Off-Page SEO courses higher on the list… but first… I wanted to mark off a quick class about monetizing your blog… and also managed to complete a course that specifically focused on link-building techniques… since I’ve only used organic techniques up to this point…
I have to say… I wasn’t expecting all of that much from the monetization course… having taken many in the past only to feel like I was either being sold a get rich quick scheme… or the instructor was testing out the course as a get rich quick scheme of their own… offering it for “free” but then asking for your email… or providing nothing but a ton of affiliate link… but this course wasn’t that and was actually the best free class on the subject that I’ve ever taken… and would recommend it as an introduction to the topic…
The link-building course was also really good…. especially considering the fact that it was free… that said… I have to admit that I didn’t pay attention as much as I could have… but the course was made up of nothing but slides filled with text… leading me to get a little bored and start to multitask… but… I did learn a few things that I’m going to implement into my SEO as soon as I finish all of this course work…
Then again… I might end up taking the rest of today to implement a few things that I’ve learned… because I feel like it’s about time for a break from all of this school… since I’m starting to notice that I’m zoning out more… especially as the instructor covers information that I just heard from the previous instructor… I’ll probably wait until Monday to get back to my learning…
Until then… I’m going to say that I’m done with the marketing portion for today… now let’s see how I dealt with the task from yesterday…
According to the 365 Days Of Marketing book… yesterday was Unique Name Day… which had me stumped as to how I would celebrate as a theme… thinking that I could share that my name was unique when I went by Bunker… only Bunker is my last name… so it’s not all that unique when I’m around my family… then again… my grandma just past… leaving only my dad and me as the only two Bunkers left as far as our branch of the bloodline goes…
Next… I thought I might share a few of my screenplays that have unique titles/names… like They Laugh In India… Don’t They…. or Chuck Norris Would Never Write This Script… but… since my desktop computer is still down… I don’t have access to the PDF version of these files… and I don’t have Final Draft on my laptop to open each script to convert then to a file format that I can share…
Finally… I remembered that back when I was working on 365 Days Of Resolution… I created a list of mnemonics to help me remember the titles and composers for a list of classical music that I was learning to appreciate… figuring that mnemonics are like unique names… I thought I would share this link to my classical music resolution to technically fulfill Unique Name Day…
Sorry to have to resort to another technicality to fulfill yesterday’s task… but it is what it is… and now it is time to share what the book has in store for today’s celebratory theme…
The 365 Days Of Marketing book says that today is National GI Day… and I’m completely stumped once again… but… as I said yesterday… I often end up having fun tracking down something old to promote when I have no idea how to celebrate the theme for the day… so… I hope that I’ll have fun tomorrow when I write about what I manage to come up with by the end of today… and as always… I look forward to sharing what I end up getting into!!!
And now… to wrap it all up… below are my statistics for the last seven days…
