Resolution #274: Figure Out How To Turn An Xbox Kinect Into A 3D Scanner...

The Resolution: Once I put together my 3D printer I'm going to need something to print. Since I've yet to learn how to make 3D models it's going to be a while before start designing my own creations.
I figured it may be easier to start out with 3D scans, so I went to Amazon and couldn't find a single 3D scanner even close to my price range.
Then I found on the internet that you can convert an Xbox Kinect into a 3D scanner!!!
I bought one right away and here we are.
Now I just need to figure out how to make it work.
Result #274: I Successfully Bought An Xbox Kinect… But… I Failed To Convert It To A 3D Scanner…
Update #1: The Conclusion…
Date: 10-1-2015
I really dropped the ball with yesterday’s 3D Printer failure. Being that the kit that I bought was made from 3D printed materials that needed to be cleaned up, the fact that all the instructions for the device were in Chinese, and finally, the fact that I had to break down all the progress to pack the thing up when I moved, I never got my printer up and running.
Since this failure led to a lack of a call for 3D scanning I never got around to figuring out how to turn my Xbox Kinect into a device that would have fulfilled these needs.
I'm not giving up though. As soon as I buy a bike I'll be able to ride to the hardware store which is a little out of walking range. Then I'll be able to buy the replacement parts needed to complete my 3D printer. Once that is up and running my attention will return to this resolution in hopes that I will eventually be able to scan and print 3D objects and live as if I were one of the Jetsons.
As soon as I figure it out, I will let you know.
