Dateline 10-17-2016

Alright, no more procrastination, today I'm finally going to start my latest Android app assignment. I went to bed nice and early last night, woke up nice and early this morning, finished all my work and even fit in a nap already. Now I'm well rested and have no excuse for putting this off any longer. 

I'm still not fully sure what I'm going to do content-wise, being that I'm a shut-in trying to make a tourist app. As I pointed out in the past, I could have easily slapped together something generic to get this over right away. I could have used information from other tourist sites and slapped together an app that met the assignments requirements but I wouldn't be all that proud of the end product because it would represent me.

Right now, the apps that I'm building are as much about building a portfolio as they are about learning and if I were to build a generic app I'm sure I wouldn't add it to my portfolio making the effort a little pointless in my head.

Last week I did figure out a concept that I want to play with but I haven't fully fleshed out the idea. Now I think I'm at a point where I can start building the framework and start filling in the gaps as I go. I'm pretty sure that once I start the ball rolling I will fall into my groove and inspiration will finally set it. 

At least that's how I hope it will happen.
