I made an old school mistake last night and am paying for it today.

My youngest nephew has been sick the past couple days and I've been hearing rumblings that it's contagious. When I woke yesterday to a runny nose and the sniffles I thought it might be my turn so I ran up to the store to grab some cold meds.

By the time I got back I felt better but since I've been struggling with sleep lately I decided to take a few pills before heading off to bed. As a big guy with a high tolerance for everything I've always double my doses when it comes to over the counter medication so I decided to double down on my attempt to get some sleep.

As I've pointed out in past posts, I barely drink anymore so when the buzz from the pills kicked in a sense of nostalgia kicked in and I wanted more. Luckily I bought dollar store pills so there weren't many in the box because I polished off the entire batch and sat back to enjoy the ride.

I know this sound scary to an outsider but it put me in a calm peaceful place where I was able to just enjoy the moment without over analyzing the world. I stayed up for an extra hour in this state and then went to sleep.

And what a sleep it was.

I woke up feeling great but the problem with taking a lot of cold medicine is that you continue to feel the drugginess well into the day. This is why I usually only take cold medicine when I actually have a cold to the point where I'm almost out of commission either way.

Oh well, I did what I did and now I'm paying for it by feeling too relaxed to be productive. Oh, what a problem to have. Hopefully, I'll sleep well tonight as well!

Talk to you tomorrow,
