/I'm kind of excited about the upcoming week. First off, I'm excited because I'm about to finish my first Android App building class and am about to move on to my second. This first class started out interesting but all I'm doing is building calculator apps. The layouts are all very similar so the calculator logic is the only thing that really changes. In the next class, I'll be learning all sorts of apps and I can't wait.
Next, I'm getting new/more RAM for my computer. Up until I started taking web development courses, I've mainly used my computer to write so I've never really had to worry about my computers performance in the past. Now that I'm learning to code I often have multiple programs up that grind my computer to a halt. So I just order the max memory that my computer can handle so I'm excited to be able to build my apps without having to wait for days for my emulator to load.
I'm not so excited that it's starting to get hot here in San Diego, but I am excited that I just order the parts to build a Hill Billy Air Conditioner. This is a system where you pump chilled water through copper tubing that is attached to the from of a fan so that the copper tubing freezes and the fan will circulate chilled air throughout the room. I'm also going to buy an RV ice maker so I can recycle the water and also have ice on demand. My room gets so hot during the summer that I really hope this helps.
I'm also getting a new mattress next week which is probably the most exciting news of all. I'm currently sleeping on an old futton and even though it's not that bad, I can't wait to see if this new bed will help me with my sleep. It's one of those Purple mattresses that you may have seen ads for where they drop a giant plate of glass with eggs attached onto the mattress and the eggs don't even crack. I don't usually fall for this style of carny advertising but it was just the bonus I needed when selecting from these online beds that I've been interested in for a while.
I feel like I'm finally getting to the point where all of the things that I've been setting up over the past year and a half are starting to come together, not to the point where they are paying off but to the point where I can stop pretending that I'm feeling positive about my future to where I'm genuinely open to the idea that I might be doing something right.
Oh well, we'll see what happens and as always I'll report my finding as they arrive.
Talk to you tomorrow,
