/I was trying to think of something to write when I went out to water my plants which haven't been doing all that well in the heat. Most of the smaller plants that I started just before it started to get hot have all shriveled up and died. A couple plants seem to be thriving in the heat and then there are a couple that seem to have a rocky relationship with the sun.
My tomato plant, the oldest of the bunch, is still green and standing strong but the leaves look a little dried out and lifeless. According to the class I took on gardening, this could either be a sign that I am under watering the plant or I could be over watering it. This confusing sign of struggle makes me question natures desire to survive.
Either way, I've been putting so much effort into getting the plant back to its healthy-looking self that I didn't notice this...
My plant is producing food!!!
If I can keep this plant alive until these fruits become mature enough to eat, this will be the first time in my life that I've successfully grown food.
Other than that, I'm going to spend this weekend building my above ground garden bed that I've had to wait for a couple loose end supplies to complete. Tomorrow, I'll be preparing the ground then I'll be building the structure later in the week.
I can't wait to share my progress but for now, it's time to get to work.
Talk to you tomorrow,
