/Oh my god, I am so sick of the current state of technology.
First off, it seems that every three months or so our home internet goes to shit. It will work perfectly fine for days on end and then all of the sudden you won't be able to go more than an hour without a handful of interruptions. Yes, I am aware of the technique to reset the router but that only seems to work for a day or two until weeks later, out of the blue we're back to the premium service that we pay for.
To top this off, every year or so it will get so bad that the cable company has to send someone out and without fail the "problem" always seems to be that we have an out of date modem and router even though it's the one we upgraded to the last time we had to deal with the issue. It's been about six months since our last upgrade and now it's starting to act up again.
This is just my problem with getting to the internet. Once there, you have to deal with another pile of disappointments. We've gone from the point where experts were in control of the way content is delivered to where anyone, including me, can slap together something that looks deceptively professional despite being filled with bugs and bad design.
You wonder why people only read headlines to the news, I dare you to get through an entire modern article. First off, in the age of hi-speed internet, we shouldn't have to deal with the page constantly adjusting its size as random marketing images take just a tad too long to load.
Then the page finally settles and you scroll down to read the next paragraph only to be interrupted by a pop-up asking you to sign up to some newsletter. Once you close this nuisance of a marketing ploy, you get back to reading the article only to get a message that reads click here to continue reading.
If you are lucky, you will do as the note says and click there and the rest of the article will instantly load, but this is most likely not what will happen, nope, most of the time you get sent to an entirely different site that is where the article originated from and then you have to go through this entire process again.
Don't even get me started on having to deal with this nonsense when viewing the internet on my phone, I'm almost to the point where I'm about to give up on the technology altogether.
Oh well, I just had a rough morning of trying to start my day and the internet just wouldn't play along. Good thing it's Friday, and I'm caught up on my work because I'm definitely going to take it easy for the rest of the weekend.
Talk to you tomorrow with updates.
Sincerely,
The Wicker Breaker
