/Yesterday ended up being an interesting day. As I pointed out in my last Daily Breaker post, I was up for over twenty-four hours after landing a one-off gig and fitting in 16 hours straight, eight hours pre-midnight, eight hours post to max out the eight hours a day that I was allowed.
At first, I wanted nothing more than to get some sleep but I knew that if there were any loose ends as far as things that I needed to get to, there would be no way I'd enjoy my slumber because I know how my mind works and how my thoughts would go to that task over and over again like how your tongue is drawn to even the slightest of mouth injuries.
With that in mind, I wrote my Daily Breaker post to at least lighten the potential sleep distraction and by the time I was done, I was hit by a slap happy second wind and took advantage of the burst of energy by jumping right into my Saturday Night Live viewing for the day, thinking I'd write the review when I woke but once again, my ambition had other plans.
As soon as the viewing was over, I went straight into my review and by the time I was finished, it was 10:30 in the AM and I had completed every last daily obligation and felt justified to finally get to sleep without any fear that anxiety would keep my mind racing. The only problem was that I still had Monster Energy Drink racing through my veins and need another two hours to finally wind down and sleep with a little help from my "medicine."
Once I finally went down for my late afternoon slumber, four hours flew by and I woke up in a pool of sweat to where I literally felt like I had just got done swimming, which then me to actually jump in the pool to cool myself off because I think I was really close to having a heat stroke so I think, for at least the rest of the summer, I try to stick to sleeping at night or at least never again during the day with my door closed to allow cooler air in from the outside.
The one benefit from this sweat drenched sleep was that it wasn't all that refreshing so last night I was able to sleep nice and sound and feel fully refreshed for today where hopefully I'll be able to fit in another eight hours' worth of work.
As always, we'll see what happened and I'll check in tomorrow with what does.
Talk to you then.
Sincerely,
The Wicker Breaker
