This morning was very interesting as I woke late after a late night with company to the sound of a conversation outside of my door followed by the power being shut off to my entire room. If it wasn't for the sounds of the conversation, I would have just assumed that the power went out due to the heat like it did a couple of weeks ago, and I also wouldn't have been all that surprised as I was drenched in sweat and the fans weren't helping to cool off.

After about a minute, I poked my head out to see what was going on and it turned out that there was a bit of an oven fire after my sister's fiance attempted to put the oven in clean mode. I guess it was bad enough to call the fire department but by the time they showed up the flames had died down on their own and the firemen just turned the power off in order to investigate the aftermath.

If this would have happened any other day, I might have found it weird but this happening today was extra strange because it was the morning the first time I ever had a guest stay over since moving home and we both stood in silence as this mystery played out right on the other side of my door which triggered a little anxiety.

Not that I don't want anyone to know that I had company over, it's just she hasn't met any of them yet, and I'm nervous about making an introduction because I know they are going to over react because they've never met a single person that I've dated and I know that there's chance that they're going to make it an embarrassingly big deal so the last thing I wanted was an unplanned introduction.

The weird part is, the moment I opened the door, my little nephew stormed into my room like he owned the place and told me the tale of the fire without even noticing my company who was lying on the couch and it even seemed like he looked directly at her but he must have just not registered that anyone could possibly be there because he definitely would have asked about her because he's not one to hold back his surprise.

So that turned out to be an interesting night/day at the house, now it's time to get to work so I'll have something to report on when I check in tomorrow, look forward to talking to you then.

Sincerely,

The Wicker Breaker
