Dateline 7-4-2017

Well, Happy America day everyone... luckily I've never been a fan of celebratory holidays so I'm not all that disappointed that I don't really have plans to join any of the festivities other than hanging with the family during the day before they venture out to see things blow up in the sky to celebrate the one day everyone seems to forget that there's a question as to how great America actually is... at least as far as our government is concerned.

Last night I got so close to completing Phase Two of my plan to get as far ahead of my SNL reviews as I can in order to get me to the point where all I have to do is watch and review each episode without having to worry about page setup or layout.

You know how yesterday I said that I was aiming for a slacker Saturday? Well, that didn't last all that long. As a matter of fact, it was only minutes after I published my post that I started the layout process for my reviews for future seasons of SNL since I was, at the time, one full season and a half ahead of the game.

Yesterday was another pretty busy day of behind the scenes work for this blog. I am now two seasons ahead of schedule as far as the layout being set for my SNL reviews. Not only that but I am one season ahead when it comes to having all the sketch titles listed in my Wicker Breakdowns.

Well, yesterday ended up to be a half waste of time. First off, as noted I discovered a new Risk video game and had to play it until I got all of my evil plotting for world domination out of my system. It's a super fun game, in fact, I'd go so far as to say, it's even better than the first PlayStation Risk that I've been desperately trying to find a replacement for ever since the disc I own got scratched to hell which got me to get rid of the console I used to play it on.

One of the things that sucks about being an introvert is how you go through periods where you don't mind and actually enjoy being around people more often than usual. This can lead to a building expectation that you will stay this way as if the shut-in personality is the phase and not the other way around.

As I mentioned in yesterday's post, I spent last night marathon watching the new GLOW TV series on Netflix and I have to say, it was one of the best adaptations of a pop culture event that I've seen in a while, if not the best I've ever seen.

I'm looking forward to another fun day. Once again, I finished most of the work that I need to have done by the end of the day completed last night in order to spend some much-needed quality time with my new friend as we meet up for date number three, an accomplishment I haven't experienced since I can't even remember when.

Yesterday ended up being a very fun day spent with my nephew, sister, and her fiance. While we do all live in the same place we each have our own space for sanctuary and being that we're all a weird bunch of introverts, at times I feel like I'm living with roommates and not family.

Well, yesterday ended up a pretty smooth sailing day where I just did my work and slept early to make up for the sleep deficit from the night before. There was nothing eventful at all but in a much-needed way where I did where I needed to do and just zoned out for the rest of the day mindlessly being entertained by television.

Well, yesterday ended up being another fun little venture in into a world where I got to experience what a domesticated relationship would feel like and once again it was a pleasant experience while being a much-needed break from the lonely world that I'm used to.

This I saw yet another article about the idea of a universal income and how Finland is experimenting with the idea and already seeing benefit that makes total sense to me, keeping in mind that I am anti-war and don't see the benefits of living life based on the concerns of the money hoarding elite over making the world livable for all.

Yesterday ended up being a mixed bag. First, the morning was great, though I didn't get much sleep the night before, I was running on a high from hanging out with someone new for the first time in what seems forever.

Yesterday turned out to be a pretty nice day. As I said before leaving for the day, I went out to meet up with something that I've been texting with for a little while and it turns out we got along even though, it seemed a little shaky at first due to the fact that I left San Diego when I was 21 and haven't done much exploring since getting back around 20 years later so most of the places that I had in mind shut down over a decade ago.

Well, today's a pretty big day for me as it's going to be the first time I'm going to hang out with someone I didn't already know when I moved back to San Diego. It's going to be nice to meet someone new, but I have to admit that I'm a little nervous that I might be so out of practice at talking to new people that I'm going to come across as an alien who's yet to figure out Earth.

Oh my god, I hate this heat and no, I'm not a person that complains about the cold in the winter. I hate the heat year round whether it comes from the sun being out or artificial from a heater. It just feels like it zaps all the motivation out of my body as I sit sweating my ass off desperately trying to find relief that just does not come from fans alone.

Now that my internet is running smoothly I'm getting back to the point where I've been doing more than just the bare minimum work for the past couple weeks due to not wanting to have to deal with the frustration of technical delays on work that is optional to begin with.

Yesterday ended up being a pretty good day of decompression after two days of a house full of children. Though I had a blast helping watch my two nieces along the nephew who lives with me, it's nice to get a break from kids screaming in my ear as to make demands on how we play. I get the screaming twice as bad because I'm the adult in the house who plays while the other adults deal with the responsible side of sitting.

Last night I had a moment where I was questioning my future while fantasizing about what I want to do with my life. It didn't take long before I realized that I'm actually already living my dreams, well, at least when it comes to what I want to put my efforts into.
