I'm once again in a position where I really want to start my next long term daily Wicker Breaker challenge to have actual content to add to this site other than this daily journal. I have the perfect project in mind but I'm not sure when I want to start it. Part of me feels that starting it now will prolong the current course that I'm taking to learn to build Android apps.

What a shit day this has been so far but now that my obligations are almost over it seems to be getting better.
I pointed out yesterday that I woke up feeling a little blue for no particular reason, but I took the day off to celebrate Labor Day, and my family came over which worked in cheering me up by the end of the day. I went to bed nice and early in order to wake early as well so that I could venture out to cash my paycheck before hitting the high point in the day's heat index.

It turns out that when you work from home it is very easy to forget when it is a national holiday, or what I now call, "a surprise day off!!!" Well, to be honest, I did find out that this was a three day weekend on Friday when I was informed that my oldest sister was coming down to celebrate my oldest nephew heading out of state to go to college. They said they chose this Monday because everyone would be off.

I'm finding that now that I've shifted my focus from writing fiction to writing code I no longer spend as much time in a world of fantasy. When thoughts pop into my head, I no longer ride them out in an attempt to find the story. I do continue to spend a lot of time day dreaming only now I think in technical terms that are deeply rooted in reality.

Today has managed to get away from my in a casual yet productive way.
I had to wake up nice and early to hitch a ride to the store to pick up some dog food and personal supplies. Since I've fallen back into a graveyard sleep schedule, due to late night app building sessions, it's become very hard to wake up before noon. This means that my schedule for the day has been a little out of whack, having woken to a single digit AM hour staring back at me from my clock.

Yesterday, after publishing my post, I started my next lesson for the Android App building course that I'm taking. Normally to start a lesson, I look over the final assignment so I have an idea as to what I need to pay extra attention to during the lectures. I was excited to see that this week I will be building a fancy media player app.

Hmmm, I don't really have much to report on today. I spent the past couple days taking it easy after a solid week of working on my Old School WWF Quiz app. I spent so much time getting it just right that I fried my mind in the process.
