It's beginning to seem that the easier it is for me to get up early in the AM, the more boring my life seems to get, or it could be the more boring my life continues to grow to become, the easier it is for me to wake up so early in the AM. Either way, I'm not a huge fan of the boredom and miss the days that I felt more of a need to keep myself self-entertained.

Other than the early morning snafu where my power was shut off due to a small fire in the main house, yesterday was a pretty eventless/peaceful day which seems to be more and more of a common occurrence as my life seems to evolve toward normalcy which definitely is affecting my writing but it's still hard to tell if it's for better or worse.

This morning was very interesting as I woke late after a late night with company to the sound of a conversation outside of my door followed by the power being shut off to my entire room. If it wasn't for the sounds of the conversation, I would have just assumed that the power went out due to the heat like it did a couple of weeks ago, and I also wouldn't have been all that surprised as I was drenched in sweat and the fans weren't helping to cool off.

It was probably about six years ago that I started to grow tired of satire when it comes to politics. I know, I know, satire played a big part in the past in helping get information out to non-political types through comedy, but it seems that the glory days of people rising to action over this potentially positive propaganda is long gone to where it now seems like a Facebook share is the biggest step that anyone makes on these topics that should insight outrage.

If you read this site with any regularity you might find that I am pretty obsessed with the mundane. I love slice of life movies that go nowhere that lack not only the hero but the anti-hero as well. In fact, I've always dreamed of writing a movie that parallels the movie Gladiator where we just follow an average citizen living a shitty life where all he has to look forward to is two men fight to the death that would shot in a way that would capture the underwhelming reality of events like this from the cheap seats.

Here we are again for another post where I don't really have much to say other than what took place yesterday, which I shouldn't really feel all that guilty about being that the whole reason I created this segment was to keep track of what I managed to pull off during every day of my 365 Days Of Resolution challenge from a couple years ago.

I'm now back from my three-day "mini-vacay" and it's time to get back to work on my nonsense. Though I have doubled down on my reviews in the past in order to take a day off from watching Saturday Night Live, this is the first time I've tripled down to take this much time off and I'm hoping the break will refresh my energy toward the show.

Yesterday ended up being a very low-key day at my sister's house where I had the house to my self during the first half of the day while everyone else was at the water park. When everyone returned the kids rushed upstairs stairs to play leaving me and my sister to our logic puzzle books and The Great British Bake Off which combined can almost put one in a meditative state which was the last thing I expected during this stay because I thought the kids would demand way more attention.

Yesterday was a busy day as I fit in three SNL reviews to free up my time for a three-day mini-vacation up to my sister's house to hang out with my nieces and nephew and take a break from my shut-in lifestyle. Though I've taken a couple one-day trips away from my space over the past month to hang out with my new friend, on those days I did my reviews early to free up the evening portion of my day.

I don't know why but I feel extra tired today. It's weird because I actually went to bed pretty early and then went on to sleep-in at least an hour past my normal waking time. I find this happens often, where I fit in a lot of sleep only to drag as for half the day as my brain remains cloudy from a dreamy haze. I bet it has to do with waking up during a different phase of the sleep cycle that I'm used to because usually, it doesn't take all that long before I'm up and ready to go.

Yesterday ended up being a very pleasantly uneventful day. The only thing even close to excited that happened was a dispute between me and my three-year-old nephew, who just wants to hand out and watch YouTube videos with me all day which is fine with me but he doesn't really grasp that I need to get my stuff done first in order to free up my time to play.

Oh my god, it's so freaking hot and I don't think that it helps that I spent most of yesterday hiding from the heat while I enjoyed the night in the air conditioned abode of the girl that I've been seeing for a few weeks now. Not only was the cool air comforting but I'm getting more relaxed spending a low key night with someone I'm still getting to know.

Well, I'm continuing to plug along in my attempt to get all the prep work done for my SNL reviews done in an effort to free up a lot of my time in the future as the challenge continues on. I figure now is the perfect time with my paid work dried up as completing this task will allow me to double down my efforts on salary based work while not having to give up on the only thing that motivates me to wake up at this point in my life.

A couple days ago, I started Phase Three of prep work for my SNL review challenges. In this phases, I configure the web address that's connected to the page, add the meta tags with each host's name and other taggable information, create a new header image with the proper date crossed off the calendar (a design idea that I'm kind of regretting over having a consistent image) and finally, capture and attach both a shot from the opening monolog as well as the photo that flashes on the screen right after the final sketch.

Well, yesterday ended up being a fun waste of a day while being wasted. As I said yesterday, I was gifted a box of wine to celebrate the fact that I just happened to be born in a location that is ruled by one group of people who fought to be free from another group of people from another land and then went on to kill most of yet another group of people who lived where I now live first.
