If you would have told me ten years ago that I would get into gardening I would probably have punched you square in the throat. Well, not really, but only because I don't have much of a violent streak but I would probably have laughed at you and said, "Good day," to you. Then if you would have continued on I would have said, "I said good day."

Then, about three years ago, I tried to make my own garden in my apartment's bay window. Unfortunately, due to a combination of poor planning and being poor, I failed to transfer my plants into an appropriate sized planted because I failed to buy one because I failed to afford one.

I was pretty bummed because I really thought I was going to pull it off. Then I decided to move and gave up on that dream along with many others. Now I'm living in a place with access to a yard, so I decided to give my green thumb a second chance.

A couple months ago I made an impulse buy of a gardening kit to grow some tomatoes and herbs. Unlike in the apartment, these plants actually have room to grow and they are doing well. Now I buy seed every pay day and have quite the collection of veggies that are continuing to grow.

I've yet to get to the point where any of these plants have rewarded me with produce but these are strong enough starters that I'm going to commit to building a full-blown. I just ordered a giant planter box that will fit perfectly just outside my door.

I can't wait to eat food that I created from seed. Though I've eaten items straight from a garden, I've never eaten anything that I've grown on my own. I still need to go fishing to make a meal that it 100% my own, but that's probably going to have to wait.

Who know what the summer will bring?

Oh well, that's what's going on.

Talk to you tomorrow,
